    Fishing information

We pride ourselves on offering some of the finest and most affordable coarse and trout fishing in the West Country.

For the trout angler we have smaller intimate waters such as Hawkridge, or visit our vast reservoirs at Sutton Bingham and Clatworthy. Coarse anglers can encounter stunning fish at Durleigh reservoir.

Anglers with disabilities can take advantage of free fishing at Tucking Mill or use the specially designed wheelie boats at Sutton Bingham and Clatworthy.

This year we are pleased to announce that our trout fisheries will be taking part in the Troutmasters fishing competition.

Rod licence: All anglers fishing our fisheries are required by law to have an Environment Agency, EA, rod licence. This national licence is valid for 12 months and can be online from the  post office. Concessionary prices are available to senior citizens and those aged under 17. Please note that EA bailiffs do carry out checks from time to time.

Wessex Water permits: Anglers much buy a permit before fishing. Season tickets are available from us on 0345 600 4 600 or from the ranger at the reservoir. Day or evening tickets for fishing and boat hire are available on a self-serve basis from each fishing lodge.

Code of conduct: Anglers must follow our reservoirs’ code of conduct and to check behind them before backcasting.

Ranger: If you need assistance, the ranger can be contacted in person or by phone in the fishing lodge from 8am to 9.30am or 4pm to 5pm for evening tickets and boats. At other times the ranger may be around the reservoir site so please leave a message. If you have a general enquiry, you can contact customer services on 0345 600 4 600.

Stock: Our reservoirs are regularly re-stocked with quality rainbow and brown trout. To ensure stocks are maintained, it is essential all returns are made before leaving the site, stating size and number caught. Details of the rod average for the previous week and the largest fish caught are displayed in the lodge.

Post your feedback, catches and photos on our Facebook page.
